Music made by nerds (often Rap) for people who enjoy nerdy references galore. a few examples mc frontalot Dc awkward schaffer the darklord mega ran Pretty interesting stuff In researching a proper video to post in this little bit I figured out that nerdcore is actually a much broader term/genre than I thought. The video below was picked out because of its nerdiness, but other songs are actually rather close to mainstream rap. Find Numba one http://www.sciencefriday.com/ This is a really cool website. It has all sorts of interesting articles, video, ect. on science. It also airs on NPR on Fridays. This is a video from their youtube channel. So yesterday was the last day at work for one of my coworkers. A good coworker at that. He's off to better pastures. I say good for him.
That said, my small group of coworkers went out to the bars- something that I do not do often. I went straight from work, literally combing dirt out of my hair as I went. Parking. Parking downtown is a bitch. I assume this is the norm for any downtown in decently sized city. I found a way eventually. Now, I am no heavy weight. It actually only takes one beer for me to feel it. I unfortunately made a rather bad decision- I drank on an empty stomach. I had more than I necessarily wanted, so I pretty much stopped drinking. I felt pretty good, and had a really good time. But, as I had no food, I kept getting worse. I got pretty sick in fact. Was it fun while it lasted? Quite. Will I ever get that drunk ever again? Nope. And I will never drink on an empty stomach again either . You live and you learn. ...Today... This morning was a bitch. I felt like I was going to puke in bed. This is from someone who hasn't actually puked in about 10 years for any reason. It's an uncomfortable feeling that is for sure. Naturally I thought the rest of the day would suck. I was actually wrong. I actually feel really good. Whether it was a smiles I sustained yesterday or maybe the alcohol jostled something around in my brain, but I find myself smiling in the mirror today. This does not happen very often so I am feeling kinda pumped. Go Me! As now par usual, I feed the baby ducks clutches. The older clutch now readily attempts to come inside my apartment. As of last night I was able to feed these older ducklings by hand- something I have only been able to do with adult rather-domesticated geese.
So, as an experiment, immediately after they ate out of my hand, I stopped moving and just let my hand/arm lay there for a while. The baby ducks ended up cuddling up together with a few touching my hand. Upgrade! Oddly, the adult mother and or father don't seem to care that the babies are that close to me any more. I take that as a good sign. Sorry there are no macro photos of the little guys. I don't want to freak em out to much. I am still gigantic compared to them.... As a side note, The geese still have mini turf wars in my back yard. and only the full grown adults participate. It is the same with the ducks to a much lesser degree. Only the adults duke it out with other adults, and only adults harass the little ones. Among the birds I have been feeding recently are baby ducks. Adventurous little fellas. When a path is made to somewhere new, they take it. well, I left my apartment door open a bit, and they wandered on in and ate some corn. Oddly the smaller clutch had an easier time getting up the flashing into my apartment than the larger ducklings. I went to get my camera to take a picture and a 4/5 of them get stuck inside my room and started beeping (calling for mom). So I had to pick them up and scoot them out while their mother was slightly mad at me. The little guys were fresh enough out of the water that their little fuzzy bottoms were soggy. Hooray for cute and fuzzy wildlife! They bring a little joy into my life.
